European Sales & Marketing Director

With tour directors and guides fluent in French, German and Spanish, Imperial Tours seeks to expand its European presence. We seek an entrepreneurial, multi-lingual European interested and/or experienced in the luxury travel industry in China. The successful individual will boast a strong sales track record as well as excellent inter-personal skills. Ideally, they will already have established sales networks in the European luxury travel industry. In order for the position to be remunerative, candidates should plan on a five year time frame. Tour Directors

It is sometimes said that directors serve no purpose in the production of a movie - if the producers prepare thoroughly and the actors and camera crew act and film properly, then the director should have nothing to do- it is supposed. As this is so patently not the case with movie directors, so it is with tour directors.

Apart from managing the tour and guaranteeing its overall quality (every one of our tours is accompanied by a Western, bilingual tour director), the tour director sets the pace and atmosphere of a tour. He or she is always watching for ways to customize and improve a tour and... well, ensuring that guests feel "Imperial".

Also like the local tour guide, he or she acts as a bridge for cross-cultural communication, helping guests negotiate the unfamiliarities of China's sometimes apparently confounding environment. Candidates should be over 26 years of age, have been resident in China for over 2 years, speak fluent Mandarin Chinese and have past service industry experience. If you feel you have the skills, experience and qualities required to be a tour director, we look forward to receiving your information by email.

Tour Guides

Guides are vital not just to teach guests about China's past history and culture, but also to share information about China's present circumstances and future development. Guests coming to China are liable to be as interested in, for example, the provision of childcare centers as they might be in the manufacture of the Terracotta Warriors. A tour guide's role is not to recite a litany of pre-learned information. Rather, a guide needs to take a leadership role in informing and teaching guests about China's past, present and future. Imperial Tours has not taken a single guest that has not been impressed by China's historic traditions and achievments as well as by its current development. If you are sure you can deepen this experience of your homeland, then we'd love to hear from you. Please send us your information by email.
