All foreign nationals visiting China are required to obtain a visa, prior to arrive in Mainland China.
Mainland Chinese Visa
Generally speaking, a Chinese consulate is responsible
for issuing China visas within its area of operation. If there is
no consulate near you, contact the Chinese embassy in your national
capital. For a tourist visa, the application procedure is straightforward
and usually takes between one and five days. For information about
your nearest embassy or consulate, click on a country in
the list below:
If you are in the U.S and would prefer to use a
visa service, Imperial Tours has organized preferential rates with
one such company. For information, please send us an EMAIL.
Note that this service is not available to the general public, but
only for Imperial Tours' customers.
Tibet Travel Permit
In addition to a Chinese visa, all foreign nationals traveling to the Tibet Autonomous Region are required to hold a special travel permit. We will arrange this for our guests prior to their arrival in China. To obtain your Tibet travel permit in a timely fashion, please email us a scanned copy of your Chinese visa and passport, and your arrival and departure information into and out of China, no later than two weeks prior to your arrival to China. Please note:
- Any changes to your arrival and departure dates or flights into Tibet following the granting of the Tibet permit may invalidate that permit, in which case we would have to re-apply on your behalf
- The situation for foreign-owned private jets landing in Tibet changes continually. Please ask for current details.
