Michael King has embraced all corners of the world during his decades of globe-trotting; in fact, he has seen five of the new Seven Wonders of the World in his travels.  A former telecommunications executive, King – co-owner of Great Getaways in Leawood, Kansas – has the true spirit of an adventurer, ready to pack his bags for far-flung parts of the world to be introduced to a new memory for travel journal. While King thrives on adventure and golf travel, he’s equally at ease in the posh hotels of the great cities of the world! He and his wife Barbara love to travel to China where collectively they have gone seven times in the past 9 years.  China- a land of wonder and great mystery to Westerners, is experience phenomenal growth in tourism.  One of King’s great passions is to create life-changing experiences for clients, ones that will enrich their lives and introduce them to the world far beyond their doorsteps.  At Great Getaways, he crafts exciting itineraries for couples, families and groups eager to explore different cultures, relax on exotic beaches or discover the delights of some of the world’s great urban centers.
